Abbas Lies Just Like Arafat Did

Israel, a tiny nation, is preventing the collapse of Western civilization in the Middle East.  Should the time come when the Israelis can't contain Islamic militant aggression, or they lose their battle over land ownership, that will be the time the rivaling Muslim sects will unite to eliminate the rest of the West.

It must be true that many non-Muslims don't understand the depth of that reality, for if they did, we would all agree on who the enemy is.  Instead, many have allowed themselves to succumb to the years of false narratives spewed over and over again by Arab leaders and media and spread throughout the world...as unbelievable as the stories really are.

An example of this is the renewed fight over the Temple Mount, the holiest site for Jews and the third-holiest for Arabs -- a site battered and destroyed by Muslims to discredit Jewish rights to the holy place and demoralize the Jewish People.

The Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem is where the First Temple was built in 956 BCE by King Solomon after King David purchased the land for 600 silver shekels.  It was destroyed by the Babylonians in 568 BCE, rebuilt by the king of Persia, and consecrated as the Second Temple in 515 BCE.  Then it was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE, sending the Jews into exile until the 20th century.

Islam came into being in 610 CE, when Mohammed, in the city of Mecca, proclaimed that a vision told him he was the last chosen Prophet of G-d.  In an attempt to convert the Jews, Mohammed had his followers pray toward Jerusalem for 19 months, but he still was rejected by them.  This is where Mohammed's hatred of Jews stems from, and it spilled into his Qu'ran, with verse after verse filled with reasons to kill Jews and infidels and permission for Muslims to do so.

These historic dates verify who prayed on Temple Mount first and who has tried to hide that truth.

For fifteen centuries, Mecca has been the holiest of places for Muslims, requiring followers to make pilgrimage there, but not to Jerusalem, which is never mentioned in the Qu'ran.  Jerusalem, and especially the Temple Mount, was hated by Mohammed.  His future followers intentionally built the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque, the basis of their claim to the Temple Mount, to signify Muslim conquest.

The Temple Mount illustrates how Arab leaders have falsified and destroyed historical evidence to lay claims to Jewish sites, including cemeteries, and effectively rally their followers against the existence of a Jewish state and the establishment of a Palestinian state.

And, as inaccurate as these lies are, they have played well in the West for nine decades.

In 1929, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, (also Uncle to Yasser Arafat), Haj Amin Al-Husseini, spread false rumors that Jews were killing Muslims in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.  His followers reacted by massacring the Jews in Jerusalem, Hebron, and other Jewish communities, taking claim to holy sites in those cities.

Beginning in 1948, Jordan ruled East Jerusalem, and for nineteen years, Muslims went about destroying all evidence of Jewish life and death there.  It was during this time that the fictitious Palestinian People myth was perpetrated on a foolishly ignorant public and believed by many in the West.

Then, in 1967, Yasser Arafat repeated the same deceptive story that his Uncle told -- that Jews were attacking Arabs at the Al-Aqsa Mosque to spark Muslim riots.  Arafat was supported by the Arab Nations as he made claim to Jerusalem, and especially The Temple Mount, rallying his followers into war.  But after the Six-Day War, Israel appeased the Muslims with the Temple Mount, whereby Arabs continued to erase signs of Jewish life that had existed prior to Arab occupation.

In 1993, the Oslo Agreement expanded the myth of Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state, encouraging the Arabs to pursue their goal to conquer and dominate the Jews in the land of Israel.  The holy site would then be ruled by those who have the power to deny entry to Jews.

The Temple Mount and Al-Aqsa were again in the news more recently.  On March 31, Abbas signed a "ceremonial agreement" recognizing King Abdullah II as "custodian" of the holy sites in Jerusalem, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque.  This was followed in early May with the arrest and release of Jerusalem's most senior Muslim cleric, Mufti Mohammed Hossein, for his suspected involvement in chairs being thrown at groups of Jews on the Temple Mount, followed by the barring of the Jewish Knesset member Moshe Feiglin from entering the site and complaints of Jews being restricted or hassled by security guards (in many cases by Israeli guards).

And Islamic audacity continues, as the same lies are repeated by Mahmoud Abbas.  Last Sunday, May 12, he spoke at a PLO Executive Committee meeting where he boldly laid false claims of "alleged" Jewish attacks against Muslims in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in Judea and Samaria, again attempting to establish Arab claims to Jewish land.

"We cannot remain silent over such actions, nor can we accept their recurrence," Abbas said. "If Israel is dreaming about establishing facts on the ground through its daily attacks against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, then it is deluded."

And by all illogical reason, he will succeed in making his case believable to many unless the truth is presented to the public quickly.

I visited the Temple Mount on May 8, the day after Yom Yerushalayim Day, celebrating the unification of Jerusalem after the 1967 Six-Day War.  As a Jew visiting with a group of American Zionists (AFSI), I attest to the restrictions put on Jews as we were made to wait while others went in.  We were limited as to where we could go; were continually escorted by numerous police and security guards.  We viewed the massive destruction of Jewish property strewn around the Eastern Wall and saw Muslim boys playing soccer on a concrete prayer platform cemented over remnants of what were Jewish footprints below.

For decades, it has been the immensity of the Arab lies, beyond belief to anyone familiar with Middle East history, which have actually fooled the Israeli government into a complacent and smug approach to defending themselves.  But today, Israelis know they are losing both the public relations war and the land battles to keep their tiny country together.

The lies continue every day because politicians and the media reinforce the situation with words like "Apartheid," "settlements," "illegal occupation," and "obstacle to peace," never once questioning the validity of the accusations with regard to Israel.

It's critical for "infidels," especially the Western MSM, to learn the facts, know the enemy, and fully support our partner.  This is not just a Jewish issue.  It is a matter of the survival of Western civilization against a warlike, tribal people.  Israelis are defending our freedoms daily as the first shield of defense for the free world.  AmericanThinker
