Kyril Goldschmidt, a 21-year-old student from Kishiniev, Moldova was recently united with his sister Yasna, thanks to the Birthright program (Taglit in Hebrew). Kyril arrived with a contingent from Moldova. Yasna, who arranged the meeting and was able to keep it a surprise, came on Aliyah six years ago as a result of her participation in Birthright. She said the reunion was emotional, not only for her and her brother, but other students who remember her from Moldova and asked her about life in Israel. She said others, who only recently discovered their Jewishness, were moved by visits to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Institution and the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem.
