China increases military spending

China has decided to increase its military spending for 2014 by about twelve percent to €95 billion, becoming the second-largest army budget in the world after the US, which spends €343 billion/year. The Chinese want to invest more in air and coastal defence, as well as modernising their weaponry. EUObserver
