Leaving the Unnatural Use

We look in amazement at how fast and how strong end time signs are happening—we are talking about signs that point to the rapture, the tribulation period and the return of Jesus. The degradation of humanity, God’s created beings, and the downward spiraling that forcefully slings away respect, decorum, decency, gratitude, and that which is natural, or God-created, seems under a control-mandate towards the end goal of self-destruction.

It’s all coming about as a self-discovery of freedom and liberty to do what seems self-pleasing and then yielding to twisted appetites. This is now being presented as good and liberating and a way to be fair to everyone because everyone has a right to be who they are and who they want to be. Of course, this describes a lot of bad behavior, but today I want to talk about homosexuality.

I’m not fearful of being called a homophobe. I already know that goes with this territory, and I’m sure I’m deeply classified into that category of bullies and haters since homosexuality has been making the news a lot lately, and I’ve never relented from passing that on.

A couple of things I want to set straight, even if the contra-homosexual message doesn’t set people straight; I love people no matter what, and that includes male and female gays. The second thing I want to lay out is the fact that I, and many Christians, set the Bible as our ultimate standard on the correct conduct of life. It is our compass, our direction, our ultimate answer and source for guiding us successfully along this path of life. We firmly believe that the act of homosexuality is a sin and unrepentant practitioners of this and any other sin are clearly condemned by the Word of God. I also strongly believe that because of this, there is hope, and better hope than the message of those who say homosexuality is natural and is to be embraced because it is who you are. Since the act of homosexuality is a sin, it’s also like any other sin—there is deliverance from it. People can be set free to live the course of life that God’s Word calls natural.  More about that later.

The increase and acceptance of homosexuality in the world is a predicted sign signaling the end times:

Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. Romans 1:24-27

When you go back and read the beginning chapters of Genesis, you will find that God created Adam and Eve, male and female and gave them the purpose to replenish the earth. Re-creation is the natural use of the act of sex. Sex exists for two purposes:  for re-creation and for recreation. Homosexuals have the recreation part down, but they fail miserably with the re-creation.  They cannot re-create, therefore their relationship is un-natural and self-destructive. They realize this, and some of them are trying to find a way to re-create. There is actually a male homosexual couple in the UK who is purchasing a baby—actually a designer baby by using DNA to make it look like them. That shows that they realize they are missing something that is natural to God, but their lifestyle is unnatural and impossible to fulfill the natural desire to re-create. They can’t make babies!

There is a worldwide push to make homosexuality mainstream. With impetus from gay rights groups, national leaders are working hard to make homosexuality recognized, accepted; in other words, mainstreamed. We have become so desensitized and seemingly reprogrammed that to resist marks you as intolerant and hateful. In fact, the anti-bullying movement is what is being used by homosexuals to bring gay and lesbian clubs into public school campuses—especially in conservative areas. Check it out and see if you aren’t surprised by what is clandestinely happened in your local school. Here are a few examples of how the world is accommodating this unnatural lifestyle:

• 2010-12-21 USA’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell law is removed so gays can openly enlist in military service
• 2010-12-17 The United States celebrated Human Rights Day by declaring its intention to re-insert “sexual orientation” into a General Assembly resolution even after a majority of countries voted against it a few weeks ago.
• 2010-12-17 Brazilian President Luiz Lula da Silva has become the “Santa Claus for gays” as his reign comes to an end, approving hundreds of millions of dollars for pro-homosexual propaganda, as well as a new government agency to promote the gay agenda.
• 2010-12-17 A homosexual US president is the next step in America’s march towards civil rights in the same vein as “when we dealt with the race issue,” former US president Jimmy Carter has speculated.
• 2010-12-13 A Canadian Christian TV show run by prominent evangelical pastor Charles McVety, has been shut down temporarily after an industry watchdog ruled that it had discriminated against homosexuals.
• 2010-12-13 A pro-family group is outraged that a high school in Massachusetts allowed an event on campus at which seven teachers spoke about how they "came out" as homosexuals.
• 2010-12-12 In another bow to the homosexual community, the Obama administration issued new rules for hospitals that participate in Medicare and Medicaid: Patients must be allowed to say who may visit them, and that includes same-sex partners.
• 2010-11-24 In virtually the same breath, the European Parliament has announced its intention to “strengthen the family” to deal with Europe’s coming demographic plunge, and impose “gay marriage” or homosexual civil partnerships on every member state in the Union.

The act of homosexuality is a sexual act that is unnatural or against what God designed for sex to be. As unnatural as it is, there is an element of the supernatural that is involved in it, but the temptation is just that, a temptation. If a person hasn’t yielded to the act of homosexuality, I urge that person to remain free from yielding. Any sexual act outside the boundary of marriage that’s between a husband and wife (male and female, just to be boldly clear) is an act of covenant and that is where the supernatural element ties in. The sexual act between a husband and wife demonstrates the covenant between Christ and the church and this is why Satan hates marriages and the natural sex act so much and he is working to twist it.

Homosexuals are not born homosexuals. Homosexuality is a conscious choice yielded to from temptation and spiritual weakness that, once committed, requires spiritual deliverance and ministry for restoration. And really, that is good news. The sexual urge or appetite is strong and if yielded to Satan, it becomes very destructive. Inappropriate sexual acts such as homosexuality, adultery, fornication, and anything else outside the covenant of marriage, becomes a praise to Satan as he relishes in this antichrist, anti-covenant behavior.

The Bible tells us that Christ was tempted with everything:

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.

 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.  So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:12-16

“Oh my, are you trying to say Christ was tempted with homosexuality?” I’m not trying to say it; I am saying it!  He was tempted with everything with which we can be tempted—and the power of those temptations was nailed to the cross with Him. These are common temptations from which we can walk away freely—if we choose to. 1 Corinthians 10:13 provides us a beautiful promise; “the temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” As much as one struggling might want to think, his or her temptation or testing was already experienced by Christ and He overcame it in the form of a natural man, and no one’s temptation is special or more powerful than that.
