Muslims outraged as U.S. church plans to burn Koran: Prophecy Dude Says Stop!

The world's pre-eminent Sunni Muslim institution of learning has condemned a Florida church's plans to host a Koran-burning ceremony on September 11.

In a statement carried by local media on Thursday, Al-Azhar's Supreme Council in Egypt accused the church of stirring up hate and discrimination and called on other American churches to condemn the event.

The Dove World Outreach Center is planning to burn the Islamic holy text on church grounds in remembrance of the victims of 9/11. Organizers are using its website and social-networking sites like Facebook to promote the event.

The Gainesville church, which also campaigns against homosexuality, made headlines last year after distributing T-shirts that read Islam is of the Devil.

Prophecy Dude comment:  This is Stupid with a capital S! This church and its leaders are doing nothing but bringing reproach on Christ and Christianity. I hope and pray they reconsider this Stupid act.

Here is a message I sent the pastor, Dr. Jones

Dr. Jones,

I implore you to stand down your plan to burn the Islamic Quran on September 11. In your video you say the church must do something. That something, Sir, is to pray and reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. By burning the Quran, you will incite and escalate hate towards Christians and the United States. Although you may consider your burning act to be a brave statement, I emphasize again, it will bring reproach to Christ and Christianity. This is not what we are about.

If you understand end time prophecy, then you know that the plan for the end is set, we cannot change it. The most important activity we can do right now is reach the lost, including Muslims, with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ that He died for our sins and that we can be born again.

Please reconsider your plan to burn the Islamic Quran.
