Report: ISIS Burns 45 Iraqi Citizens to Death
AL BAGHDADI, Iraq – Approximately 45 Iraqi citizens have reportedly been burned to death by the barbaric Islamic group ISIS, also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
Local Police Chief Qasim al-Obeidi told the BBC that some of the dozens that were killed may be with the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF), which has been fighting to push back the insurgency of ISIS jihadists. The atrocity took place near the town of al-Baghdadi, which had been captured by the Islamic organization last week, but was later met by ISF, who sought to reclaim al-Baghdadi from ISIS.
The massacre occurs just weeks after a captured Jordanian pilot was videotaped as he was locked in a cage and burned alive, and days after video circulated of 21 men dressed in orange jumpsuits being beheaded by the terrorist organization.
“All crusaders: safety for you will be only wishes, especially if you are fighting us all together,” a man states on the video with a North American English accent. “The sea you have hidden Sheikh Osama Bin Laden’s body in, we swear to Allah we will mix it with your blood.”
Both Jordanian and Egyptian forces have begun striking back at ISIS for its evils, and Barack Obama has requested authorization from Congress for increased action against the organization.
But some are expressing frustration after State Department spokesperson Marie Harf told MSNBC’s Chris Matthews this week that America can’t conquer ISIS by force, as she asserted that the root problem behind the terrorists’ behavior is their poverty—that they need help finding employment.
“We’re killing a lot of them, and we’re going to keep killing more of them,” she stated. “So are the Egyptians, so are the Jordanians. They’re in this fight with us. But we cannot win this war by killing them. We cannot kill our way out of this war. We need in the medium-to-longer-term to go after the root causes that leads people to join these groups, whether it’s a lack of opportunity for jobs, whether …”

“We’re not going to be able to stop that in our lifetime or 50 lifetimes,” Matthews interrupted. “There’s always going to be poor people. There’s always going to be poor Muslims, and as long as there are poor Muslims, the trumpet’s blowing and they’ll join. We can’t stop that, can we?”
Harff insisted that terrorism would end if nations inhabited by ISIS and other groups had more prosperous economies.
“We can work with countries around the world to help improve their governance,” she said. “We can help them build their economies so they can have job opportunities for these people.”
