Turkey condemns 'disproportionate' IDF violence in Gaza
The Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed unease over escalating violence in the Gaza Strip in recent days, the Anatolia News Agency reported on Sunday.
The ministry issued a strong condemnation over what it called disproportionate attacks by Israel against Gaza, causing civilian deaths and injuries, according to the report.
The statement called for both sides to act with common sense and restraint, and for an immediate end to violence in the Strip.
Relations between Turkey began to deteriorate after Israel's 2009 military Operation Cast Lead in Gaza. Diplomatic ties became even worse following the IDF's raid of the Mavi Marmara ship which left nine Turkish citizens dead.Herb Keinon contributed to this report
