The United States has assured Israel that Iran will take at least a year to produce a nuclear weapon, according to a Thursday night report by the New York Times. Official sources in Washington say the appraisal is based on recent setbacks to the Islamic Republic's nuclear development program.
The report says the assurances were made amid fears that Israel will attack Iranian nuclear installations.
