Who Shot the Antichrist?

02/28/2013 13:31

In the midst of the Antichrist’s diabolical ministry on earth, he dies. At least the Bible makes reference to a tragic event that minimally suggests a wound that could lead to death, or the appearance of death.

And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” Revelation 13:3-4

The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. Revelation 17:8

We believe the Bible is pretty clear that the Antichrist suffers death and is resurrected. We can debate all day long on whether this is a real resurrection or not, but the point is people at the time will believe it is a resurrection. This is characteristic of the Antichrist and his god Satan who attempts to both manipulate and thwart the plan of God.

The scripture reference in Revelation 13 says, “as if it had been mortally wounded” is the same wording describing Christ in Revelation 5:6 saying, “stood a Lamb as though it had been slain.” We know Christ literally died. We have no reason to believe the same doesn’t happen to the Antichrist.  Either way, it’s not a point for which to contend.

This resurrection of the Antichrist will be supported by “Bible-thumpers” of the new age who use this evidence to prove the Antichrist is the savior. This “miracle” will compel people to worship him and take his mark and doom their lives for eternity. Deception is the gift of Satan bestowed as an anointing upon the Antichrist. It will be powerful and compelling.

At every turn, Jesus warned of deception.

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many."  Matthew 24:4-5

Deception is the nature, breath, and semen of Satan; it looks and smells like truth but it’s a wolf clothed as a sheep. When we remove our protective covering and expose ourselves to the false message, we become pregnant with deception. God is truth, and therein resides the line we must walk. A step or even a stumble out of truth exposes us to deception. A step out of truth will eventually lead to death.

There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. Proverbs 16:25

People will be deceived by the miracles of the Antichrist, and it appears from scripture that the “resurrected’ Antichrist will be more powerful, angry, and threatening. After his “resurrection,” his mission is to destroy Israel.

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders… 2 Thessalonians 2:9

So, who shoots the Antichrist? Who kills him?

First of all, it appears it may happen during a battle in Israel near Jerusalem as hints Daniel.

And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him. Daniel 11:45

Secondly, it may not be a shot. After all, gun control will be in its highest and exacting form by this time (tongue in cheek). It may be a mortal or a killing wound by sword as described by Prophet Zechariah:

A sword shall be against his arm
And against his right eye;
His arm shall completely wither,
And his right eye shall be totally blinded.” Zechariah 11:17

The Antichrist’s death will be well documented and verifiable—CNN and Facebook will be covered with it so everyone on the planet will know. Simply based on the efforts to copy Christ, the Antichrist will lie in state for three days before he is miraculously healed and resurrected. What an awesome time that will be! The deceived will call him Christ.

Who kills the Antichrist? The same who killed Christ—his own.

He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. John 1:11

As much as Christians operate in the gifts of the Spirit, the Antichrist’s followers operate in the fruit of the flesh described by Paul:

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

Can you imagine such an unseemly army? The ultimate design is to bring Antichrist into his glory realm of fully empowered darkness, the ultimate communion and the possession of his soul.  And for a time, he will have that achievement.

We are continuously impressed with the acceleration of signs pointing to the end.  There is a mighty generation that is not intimate with God nor His book of instruction. These are living nests ready to incubate deception, cultivating the fruit of the flesh--an army preparing.

We believe we are close enough that the Antichrist is not only alive and well, but has his own Twitter and Facebook account.  Has he friended you?
